Supporting Extra Mile Media & Develpoment for Sunderland City Half MarathonOctober 06, 2015
We were delighted to be supporting Extra Mile Media & Development on Wednesday as they launched the new start line for the Sunderland City Half Marathon and 10K.
Since 2011 the runs have traditionally started from the iconic Stadium of Light but with new sponsors Siglion (a partnership between Carillion and Sunderland City Council) coming on board, it was the perfect opportunity for a bold move to the newly developed Keel Square.
Founder of the Run Sunderland Festival, University Chancellor and Olympic athlete Steve Cram along with Team GB Althlete Aly Dixon, Councillor John Kelly and Siglion CEO; John Seager were at the formed Vaux Brewery site to launch the change with the theme 'it all starts here'.
We were approached by Extra Mile (brainchild of Steve Cram and Allison Curbishley) to supply a machine suitable for the aerial shots and footage they required for the launch. They needed to get the cityscape of the new Keel Square development in the background while achieving some effective over head shots of the target banner and arrow below.
Our 33m Lorry Mount was an ideal for the launch as it offers an astonishing 21 metres of outreach and 33 metres of height along with a 2m jib.
The versatile T330 is able to process up to four functions simultaneously and offers a 3 man (320 kg) self-levelling platform with added extra’s such as water, air and electric sockets.
The Ruthmann is uncomplicated in its design and its zero tail swing means that it always stays within the footprint of the vehicle. This sensational machine is also an ideal working tool for industries such as window cleaning, building maintenance and arboricultural work.
This fantastic machine won the Product of the Year Award in March 2012 at the IAPA Awards in Rome because of the outstanding design, engineering and quality.
For more information on our 33m Lorry Mount or any of our van or truck mounted platforms, tracked access, scissors or booms visit our hire page.
Next year's run is expected to attract 4,000 participants and will take place on Sunday 1st May, 2016.
The highly efficient 33 metre Ruthmann Steiger T330 is a truck mounted telescopic lift, full of easy to use modern features including a ‘home’ button, which returns the boom to a transport mode with just one push, variable jacking and a memory positioning system.
