Working at height with Warren Access

Working at height is more than just construction, building maintenance and warehouses. Here are few other things our hire fleet have been up to while out and about recently.

Filming the Northumberland Vikings from a Warren Access scissorlift - Working At height

Filming and photography

Our access platforms are great vantage points for taking aerial photographs and filming. We provided a platform for photographing the Foundation Futures team at the official opening of their allotment last April from one of our platforms and to the left is a photograph of one of our scissor lifts providing the perfect base to film a Northumberland Vikings game at Druid Park in Newcastle.

Event management

Large events, such as the Great North Run in Newcastle, require a lot of preparation and sometimes working at height, setting up equipment and putting up signs, for example.

Our 13 m van-mounted platform was on hire to Nitelites for ten days around the Great North Run last year, which saw around 57,000 runners take to the streets between Newcastle and South Shields. Our van-mounted platforms are ideal for events like this as you can drive them easily between areas of the course and on a standard UK driving licence too. There is also plenty of storage room for tools and equipment in the back.

Christmas decorations

Christmas is a busy time for our hire fleet which provide a safe platform to put up street decorations and Christmas tree lights. Here’s a photo of some of last year’s efforts at Daft as a Brush Cancer Care.

Pruning trees

Our platforms have been out servicing a few large trees recently, particularly after the storms from the start of the year that left lots of damage behind. The generous outreach of our 33m Ruthman truck-mounted platform makes it the ideal option for this kind of work – here it is hard at work!
